Digital nomad visitor visa for nationals of visa-exempt countries
Who qualifies
Only nationals from visa-exempt countries; applicant must provide proof of remote work experience (employees with a contract or freelancers with active contracts)
Documents
- Completed and signed application form
- Two identical color passport photos (45mm x 35mm) taken within the last six months
- Passport (original and photocopy), valid for at least six months, with blank pages
- Personal resume or portfolio, including academic background and work experience
- Valid work contract (employees: with employer; freelancers: for current cases)
- Completed Description of Intended Activities form
- Proof of one of the following: possession of a digital nomad visa from another country OR proof of annual salary
- Proof of annual salary: tax certificate (e.g., W-2, P60, 2-NDFL) or salary certificate from employer
- Proof of bank account balance over the last six months
- Proof of international health insurance covering health and full hospitalization for the entire duration of stay
- Other supporting documents (if requested) determined by Taiwan overseas mission
- For applicants already in Taiwan: photocopies of passport pages with most recent visa and entry stamp
Applying & insurance
How to apply
Applicants outside Taiwan apply via a Taiwan overseas mission, which forwards materials to the National Development Council (NDC) for review. Applicants already in Taiwan must apply at BOCA or one of MOFA's offices at least 10 working days before their current stay expires
Insurance
International health insurance required, covering health and full hospitalization for the entire duration of stay as indicated in the Description of Intended Activities form
