Programme conditions
DE Rantau Nomad Pass is a type of Professional Visit Pass (Pas Lawatan Ikhtisas), valid for 3–12 months with an option to renew for an additional 12 months (maximum total stay of 24 months)
Who qualifies
Tech Talent (digital freelancers, independent contractors, remote workers in IT/digital fields) and Non-Tech Talent (executives, managers, finance/legal/HR specialists, etc.). Main applicant must be over 18. Open to all nationalities except citizens of Israel
Working for local clients
Digital freelancers/independent contractors may also serve Malaysian clients; remote employees must be employed by a foreign-based company not registered in Malaysia. The main holder's spouse cannot work in Malaysia

This pass allows multiple entries
Family
Immediate family members (dependents) allowed: husband/wife/common-law partner; child, adopted child or stepchild under 18; disabled child (no age limit, verified by experts); parents of the main pass holder. A dependent may enter together with or separately from the main applicant
Documents
- Signed employment contract (for remote workers) including remote work arrangement, job title, contract duration, salary, employer details
- Payslips for the last 3 months
- Bank statements for the last 3 months showing matching income
- Letter of confirmation from employer (recommended)
- Signed client contracts/freelance agreements (for freelancers)
- Invoices issued in the last 3 months
- Proof of payment (PayPal, Stripe, Wise, bank transfers)
- Portfolio, website, or client testimonials (optional)
- Personal/security bond document from the sponsor, affixed with RM10.00 revenue stamp and endorsed by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB)

Renewal and residence
The pass can be renewed for an additional 12 months (maximum total stay of 24 months). Renewal may be applied up to 3 months before expiry; renewal processing takes 6–8 weeks
