Premium Visa — long-stay multi-entry visa valid for more than 6 months up to 1 year, renewable
Who qualifies
Non-citizens from the listed countries (others may enter on a Tourist Visa and apply while in Mauritius): tourists, retirees, or professionals coming with family to work remotely from Mauritius
Working for local clients
No: applicant should not enter the Mauritius labour market; main place of business and source of income must be outside Mauritius
Family
Spouse — marriage certificate; children — birth certificate and consent letter if accompanied by only one parent; each dependent child requires minimum USD 500/month

- Completed online Premium Visa Application Form
- Bio data page of passport
- Passport size photo (first application only)
- Copy of airline ticket (including return ticket for stay beyond 6 months)
- Travel and Health Insurance for intended period of stay
- Letter of accommodation (hotel booking, rental agreement, or letter of invitation from host with proof of address and copy of host's ID/residence permit)
- Copy of recent bank statements for the last 3 months
- Proof of monthly income (employment contract or attestation for monthly revenue)
- Marriage certificate (for spouse, first application only)
- Birth certificate and, if applicable, parental consent letter (for children, first application only)

Application must be submitted online via the EDB portal 'Apply for Premium Visa'; the e-visa is issued via email
Insurance
Travel and Health Insurance covering the intended period of stay is required
Taxes & renewal
Taxes
Mauritian-sourced income (e.g. for remote work performed in Mauritius) is taxed on a remittance basis; money spent via foreign cards is not deemed remitted; money deposited into a Mauritian bank account is liable to income tax unless a declaration confirms tax was already paid in the country of origin
Renewal and residence
The visa is renewable; the holder may later apply for an Occupation Permit (to work/invest) or a Residence Permit (as a retiree) for a longer stay
