  The Mausoleum of Khawaja Ahmed Yasawi is a mausoleum in the city of Turkestan, in southern Kazakhstan. The structure was commissioned in 1389 by Timur, who ruled the area as part of the expansive Timurid Empire, to replace a smaller 12th-century mausoleum of the famous Turkic poet and Sufi mystic, Khoja Ahmed Yasawi (1093–1166). However, construction was halted with the death of Timur in 1405.

  Tamgaly is a petroglyph site in the Zhetysu of Kazakhstan. Tamgaly became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. Tamgaly is located 170 km northwest of Almaty.

  The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a monumental Buddhist pagoda located in southern Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. It was built c. AD 652 during the Tang dynasty, when Xi'an was the imperial capital. The pagoda originally had five stories. It was rebuilt in 704 during the reign of the empress Wu Zetian. Its current exterior brick façade was added during the Ming dynasty.

  Saryarka – Steppe and Lakes of Northern Kazakhstan is a part of the Kazakh Uplands which has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was inscribed on July 7, 2008. (see List of World Heritage Sites in Kazakhstan) The site comprises the Naurzum State Nature Reserve and Korgalzhyn State Nature Reserve. The two reserves contain wetlands which serve as important stop-over points for migrating birds from Africa, Europe, and South Asia. It is estimated that 15–16 million birds, including many endangered species, use the site as a feeding ground. The pink flamingos in particular are a major attraction within Korgalzhyn Reserve.
